chocolate deals with Franklin Roosevelt in the New Deal 1933 to 19  tractors going to have going to go the First new deal and the Second New Deal create empty l44 All-American  that that the government was going to be involved in the economy unlike present Hoover who believed government should be hands-off help sore from he developed polio 1920s it's very rare to find a a photo of him in a wheelchair because wanted to 2% this image of Vitality during the Depression and again The Wiz no TV so so the newspapers went along with this you know what only photograph if you see photos of him he's normally sitting down he came onto the to the stage his first hundred days first thing he did first thing he did  was he Old Pro pitch back alcohol  when is things to know about about 18 Outlaw all out you needed for religious services that was there were certain exceptions Americans that was very easy to just make it at home so there was a huge underground economy  so so by making it legal again was was it the thing he did first but also what he did was he started develop his floppy. who's got any money the only people who has money is the federal government and so the federal government should step in and start to create work we have all these people for unemployed so let's figure out a way to make him do stuff so first place he went is he looked at the farmers the farmers have been struggling since the 1920s so he said  well what are we going to do for the farmers we have Farmers pouring milk out because there's too much milk and the price is really low and the and the farmers are trying to create Oranges by pouring milk so I pouring milk out in the country and in the city I have people starving so we need to fix them so they said why don't we pay people not to grow food a great idea so those were called subsidy payments and so it was trying to get a handle on you know trying to on how much food was groaning so he said okay well well what about those before we have all these people in the cities were looking for work so why don't we create some projects the country and an let's not just like build a road but let's create designs around so you get the architects in the engineers involve the LA River Aqueduct system there was a big flood here in Los Angeles in the 1930s they built a a way to get all the water or much of the water out of the city and into the ocean the word project mean what about kids can we do some up to the Kingdom Trails pictures and stuff like that what about the artist which would be within wow looks for your band people and they can do some concert play Brian Simpson on cigarettes from them so I will the god that government was responsible for the welfare of its citizens a couple things that were really important that Frank Roosevelt did that I just want to know note of the Wagner Act made unions legal before that you would have strikes in the government call out the army turn out and beat some heads and stuff like that  is the 1930s the Wagner Act became the law of the land in Union also what are we going to do about it so the widows and orphans parents die husband and needle is the worker. what about the people left behind so the Social Security Act  who's also started in the star to try to create a safety man who wrote for widows and orphans that would later become expanded in the 1960s and Franklin Roosevelt was extraordinary man served as president longest serving president from 1933 up to his death 5 they made a constitutional amendment about him because he ran and won four times and they said after that only serve two terms so I chapter 10 and I hope enjoy check-in time
