News and Announcements
Greetings Board District 2 Families,
This is board member Dr. Rocío Rivas. As of November 1st, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for low-income families is expected to stop or face delays — the result of the federal government shutdown blocking funding for programs that help feed our children.
But here in Los Angeles, LAUSD is stepping up — making sure no child goes hungry. This change does not impact school meals. Schools will continue serving three nutritious meals daily — breakfast, lunch, and supper — at no cost to all students.
The District’s Supper Program is open to all children ages 1–18, including community members who are not enrolled in LAUSD schools. Meals must be eaten on school campuses.

LAUSD also offers school-based food pantries, food drives, and pickup programs.
